Wm. J. Mills & Co. presenta le borse in canvas

Italian to English translation

The company Wm. J. Mills & Co. is engaged in the production of handmade productsfor the marine canvas for five generations.

Known first as a sailmaker, William Mills, a Scottish immigrant, came to Greenport, at the end of the north branch of Long Island, in the late 1800's. The economic growth of the city of New York led to an increasing demand for fish and boats, fishing or otherwise, and Greenport proved the perfect place to develop any kind of business related to boating.

Today the production of sails is only a small part of the business Wm. J. Mills & Co., the company has produced in recent years with great success each type of item incanvas, both for individuals and businesses, from tents to exchanges.

The canvas bags Wm. J. Mills & Co. are produced with the same meticulous attention to detail that has been the trademark for over a century. They are all handmade, using the same materials that the company strives to produce sails for boats and tents and, thanks to double stitching, both inside and outside, are incredibly durable and long lasting. Ready for a summer super fashion??

The Vintage Typewriter Bag is profiled

Size: 14" East to West x 12" tall x 2.75" wide
An updated satchel bag originally used to carry a portable Smith Corona typewriter to school, now is available in the Wm. J. Mills & Co. Vintage Styling. Constructed in both waxed cotton twill (Dry Series) or from Duck canvas (Vintage series) this bag now joins the family of Business bags offered in the Mills bag line. We still call it the Typewriter bag so we don't loose sight of the humble roots it came from.

The heavy duty twist button closure allows the envelope flap of the bag to be secured. The closure itself is borrowed from our marine hardware to give a heavy duty closure that will last a lifetime.

All bags in the Vintage styling have black oxide hardware, that will not rust and gives a subtle, understated look to the bag. Along with our in-house made fabric piping, this bag is cooly sophisticated.

All the Vintage styles bags have a heavy duty/ extra wide shoulder strap. This strap does not curl and sits flat on the shoulder so that the heavy weight of your bag carries comfortably on the shoulder.

The Typewriter bag has an interior pocket sized to carry a tablet PC or Ipad. We find it ironic that a bag that began life to carry a typewriter, now is purposed to carry laptops and Ipads.

The simple shape and styling on the exterior of the Typewriter bag belies the pockets and dividers found inside to keep your contents organized, separated, and retrievable.

Interior pockets for pens and business cards are mounted on the interior dividers

The back divider has the pocket PC pouch which we mounted on the interior side to afford maximum protection to that kindle with a few chapters left to read.

Here the Typewriter bag is shown in waxed cotton twill (approx 24 oz.) which we call the Dry Series Typewriter bag. Waterproof an organized.
