It all began in late 1800 by William Mills, a Scottish immigrant who settled on the Atlantic coast of the United States, in Greenport, at the end of the north branch of Long Island. In those beautiful places, Mills began his work as a production of sails, and was successful.
The economic growth of cities in the Big Apple led to an increasing demand for fish and boats, making the town of Wm. J. Mills & Co. ; Greenport, New York, the place perfect for the development of all types of business related to boating.
After more than a century and five generations, the production of sails still remains one of the cornerstones of the business of Wm. J. Mills & Co, though not the only, and not overwhelming.
Coming to the present day, in fact, the company began to devote itself - and with excellent results - to the production of any article in canvas, targeting an audience of both private individuals and companies.
